Comments: Hamilton Pool.was one of the best natural swimming holes in central Texas. It occupied an amphitheater formed by the partial collapse of a large cavern. Two thirds of it was surrounded by deep overhanging limestone slabs. These places of seeping water and permanent shade were festooned with maidenhair ferns and, in winter, ice.
