Research Interests
I am interested in the chemical and isotopic heterogeneities of the oceanic mantle at a variety of scales. I measure highly siderophile element abundances as well as the Re-Os isotope system in ophiolite peridotites. My current research objectives are to investigate meter and kilometer scale heterogeneities at the 497 Ma Leka Ophiolite Complex in Leka, Norway and at the 1.95 Ga Jormua Ophiolite Complex in Finland through grid sampling methods. Sample focus will be on collected harzbugites and dunites. To shed light on the causes of geochemical heterogeneities, analyses of pyroxenites within grid sections, thin section observations of relict olivine grains, and whole rock major and trace element data will also be examined.
