Prospective Students
Our laboratory has a long and active history of including high school, undergraduates and graduate students in our laboratory, field, and modeling research. Our fundamental philosophy of education and research include the integration of students and faculty with varied educational and experiential backgrounds into our activities. We are interested in developing in students a firm foundation in understanding how chemistry, physics and mathematics, as well as the fundamentals of classical field geology, can be applied to the solution of fundamental problems in the Earth Sciences, with special emphasis on problems related to ore deposits and igneous and geothermal processes.. Further, we train our students broadly so as to maximize their success in the many possible endeavors they may choose to pursue after leaving the University of Maryland. Our students have gone into many varied fields upon graduation.
