Research Interests
My current research interest focuses in fabric evolution and the development of ductile shear zones. The aim is to develop numerical models to simulate the strain localization in ductile shear zones beneath seismically active faults. I will develop 2D and 3D numerical models using deal.II, a C++ library for FEM and adaptive mesh refinement.
I have also developed numerical models of subduction processes in 2D (using Comsol Multiphysics) and 3D (using CitcomS). My research focuses on the interactions between overriding plate, slab and mantle with especial interest in slab geometry variability, trench-parallel flow and seismic anisotropy.
I am also interested in applications of machine learning and computer vision in geophysics.
